Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of management functions including planning, organizing, leading, and controlling in building a sustainable business system. In the face of global challenges such as climate crisis, social inequality, and dynamic market pressures, organizations are required to integrate sustainability principles into managerial practices. The research method employed is a literature review, analyzing various scientific publications, journals, and relevant reports that explore the relationship between management functions and sustainable business practices. The findings indicate that the application of adaptive and sustainability-oriented management functions can strengthen business resilience and enhance long-term stakeholder value. The novelty of this research lies in its holistic approach to management functions, viewing them not only from the perspective of internal efficiency but also their role in driving social and environmental transformation. The study contributes both theoretically and practically by providing a conceptual foundation for business actors and policymakers in designing managerial strategies that support the development of a fully sustainable business system
